124 arrested for Steroid use

U.S. Arrests 124 in Raids on Global Steroid Ring i have just read this great article about police officer's arresting 124 people for use steroids and other drugs. Over the past month officers have collected 1.4 million steroid dosage units in 56 cities across the US. I believe stuff like this is a perfect example of why its illegal. When drugs are spread out through the cities more and more people will get hooked and addicted. Why do people want to ruin there bodies and there lives? Is it to be cool, or do they do it because depression and other issues.

These people who had been arrested to me are stupid. Why do something if you are going to regret it. Like why steal something, why smoke, why ruin your sports career with drugs/steroids ,why anything that will bite you in the butt later in life. I still ,today, don't understand why people would want to do this to themselves. If you were one of these people and they asked you would you give in to peer pressure.

Classroom's of the Future

Classrooms for the Future...Yes i just read it "Redesigning Education," do those words make sense. Is it possible to redesign education? When we think of education, we think of the way we learn and how it applies, but for this group of coaches in Pennsylvania they are beginning a new era for schools technology and the way we learn. With the use of this technology many students will comprehend and understand what they are learning with Internet, software, etc. How can this school environment be formed? What will it take?

Not only will this environment take a lot of hard work, but a lot of money will be needed. The supplies needed are very impressive and these great improvements are:
-one laptop per student desk (cart of 25)
-a teacher laptop
-a printer/scanner
-imaging software
-productivity software
-a web cam
-an electronic whiteboard
-a projector
-up to three digital still cameras (per eligible school)
-up to five digital video cameras (per eligible school)
-Infrastructure (wireless network, servers)
-technical support

These improvements will be made for every core class and subject, but also will help students with there work and become more experienced with technology.

UK gets the iPhone

I happened to be looking at a great article about the UK. "O2 wins iPhone contract in the UK "
Phones, texting, and the Internet. Is there anything else we Americans can give to other countries around the world. Just four to five hours ago the UK signed a contract letting them open up a wireless connection with Cingular to have the Apple iPhone. We are showing the world how to use technology and by the year 2031 the whole world will have technology just like us. Not only do we have the latest and most expensive stuff but are they really all that important to us or just because they cost a lot and look cool. Think about how much money could our country have if we had never bought phones, computer's, and wireless network.

When we came out with cell phones everyone wanted them. Then out came four different services and phones. Everything new that comes out more and more Americans have to buy it. Next time you see something you want to buy stop and think do i need this?

Education

Have you ever used the search engine Google? I'm sure you have, but when you find a website, read for facts, and then write them down, are you sure you are getting true and correct information. For example 9/11 facts state two airplanes hit the Twin Towers, but there are several sites that say the buildings were bombed. How do you know it's true or not? I believe Google is a great search engine. For the most part it gives correct information and when i'm not sure of it i go to more sites and check if they have the same facts.
When we are in school we learn from textbooks, teacher's, and sometimes from other students. Have you ever been taught to search the web? If our school's and teacher's teach us to search the web we not only will have more links for more information, but we will never get stuck on something. We will be able to look it up with our help from our teacher's on how to search the web and get true and correct facts about the world.
